CASIO SA-35

Scientists recently confirmed the existence of a new planet, Casio SA-35, where sounds are limited but possibilities are endless.

"35 minutes of music in a month? They've got to be joking. It once took me over 100 hours to write a four-minute piece!" I could have talked myself out of the RPM Challenge (of recording an entire album in the month of February), but as I walked back to my apartment through the snowy field, a slender black object came hurtling down from the heavens. I slowly approached this mysterious gift from the sky. Hmmm...a keyboard...Casio SA-35. It must have been fate.

But at the time I was oblivious to the implications of this "toy" keyboard. Inadvertantly, I had stumbled upon means of communication with a distant planet, the bizarre (but surprisingly Earth-like) Casio SA-35. The following tracks are intercepted signals that provide snapshots of life in this land of 100 sounds. Luckily the RPM Challenge team didn't care that I passed these tracks off as my own in their 2007 contest.

These are just a few samples from the disc. You can listen to the full album at my RPM Challenge site.
